Jackie Kinasz

Jackie received a BA in Dancemaking and minor in Environmental Science from Columbia College Chicago. While at Columbia, Kinasz performed in student works by Shaneequa Miller and Lizz Pippenger. She premiered two of her own choreographic works, A Nation of Corn People and TwoWords: Change on The Dance Center stage. She studied teaching theory and practice that was heavily influenced by the methods of Anne Green Gilbert under Dardi McGinley-Gallivan. She has trained with master instructors Liz Burritt, Paige Cunningham, Carrie Hanson, Becca Lemme, and Joanna Rosenthal. This past summer, she collaborated with the participants of The Dance Center’s High School Summer Intensive to create the sound score and video montage for their culminating performance. She continues to collaborate with artists creating sound for their performances. Kinasz also practices aerial arts and has interned with Ameba Acrobatic Aerial Dance Company. She is an active member in the yoga community and participates in the work-study program at Om on the Range yoga studio. This past summer, she attended her first 10-day Summer Solstice Kundalini Yoga Festival in New Mexico.
